Write for us
United Tennis Journal welcomes pitches that make tennis clearer, more interesting to follow or easier to discuss without assuming specialist knowledge. We are interested in focused explanations, not claims of access or expertise we cannot verify.
What to pitch
Propose a specific tennis question, rule, tactical choice, format or match pattern, and explain what a general reader will understand after reading your piece. Strong ideas have a clear scope, a distinct point and a useful reason to read now or return to later. We welcome fresh angles on familiar parts of the game as well as well-framed subjects readers may have missed.
What to include
Tell us the proposed subject, your central idea, the intended reader and a short outline of how you would handle it. Note any sources or material the piece would rely on, and disclose relevant commercial interests. Avoid pitches that depend on unsupported claims, undisclosed promotion or instructions that could be mistaken for professional coaching.
Where to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a commission; please do not send a complete article unless we have requested one. We cannot promise publication or a particular response time.
The score is only one way to read a match
We explain the rules and choices around tennis without assuming you already know the jargon. The aim is to make each match more interesting to follow, not to tell players how to train.
